Highworth will be improved by creating an environment that is sustainable and of the highest quality by improving the services offered to residents and commercial partners and by creating new and better ways of working. We recognise the importance of maintaining the wealth in our communities while forging a future where poverty and exclusion have been removed. 

Aspirations for Highworth

Economic

• Rejuvenate the town centre to create a lively, thriving and attractive focus for the town.

• Support and encourage existing businesses while attracting new companies into the area.Promote and develop the tourism industry within Highworth and raise its profile.

Environment

• Protect and preserve the community's access to the natural environment and the open countryside.

• Use all our resources wisely.

Transport and Accessibility

• Provide equal access for all to transport.

• Improve and develop the public transport links to and from the surrounding rural areas and to towns and cities.

• Provide better access within and to the town and surrounding countryside for pedestrians and cyclists.

Social and Community

• Nurture the sense of community pride and ensure public safety within Highworth.

• Develop facilities, services and housing, which meet the changing needs of the growing community.

• Support a culture of life long learning.

• Encourage a wide range of sporting, cultural and leisure opportunities for all ages and all sections of the community.

• All members of the community will have access to quality health and social care.

• Ensure future generations can aspire to a better quality of life.
